Amid transfer rumors ten days from the NBA Trade Deadline, Giannis Antetokounmpo could soon change teams… but also agents. Rich Paul – who notably represents LeBron James – sniffs the file.
According to Henry Abbott of TrueHoopthe relationship between Giannis and his current agent Alex Saratsis is strained. So much so that the Greek Freak reportedly considered firing him due to his inability to secure a transfer.
When we know that Saratsis has represented Antetokounmpo since he played in the NBA, we are potentially in for a big change of course, which leads us to believe that Giannis is really considering leaving the Bucks despite what he may say in public.
Rich Paul is already on the lookout.
Rich Paul has been talking to Thanasis and wants to represent Giannis Antetokounmpo, per @TrueHoop
“Rich is said to have been making the case that he’s the guy who can get a star player where he wants to go.”

Still according to Henry Abbott, Paul is currently discussing with Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Giannis’ brother, to get closer to the latter and get his hands on the Freak.
Boss of Klutch Sports who has also become a media figure, Rich is perhaps the most powerful agent in the NBA currently, he who obviously represents his friend LeBron but also Anthony Davis, De’Aaron Fox, Draymond Green and Tyrese Maxey. Paul is renowned in the industry for his ability to exert all possible pressure on a franchise (hello Jeanie Buss) to allow his clients to get what they want. And that’s exactly his argument for trying to get Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Can Giannis Antetokounmpo decide to switch agents as the NBA Trade Deadline (February 5) approaches? Henry Abbott specifies that there must be a minimum gap of seven days between the dismissal of an agent and the recruitment of a new one. Tight timing therefore, but the scenario is not impossible in theory.
If Rich Paul ends up becoming the Freak’s agent, the rumors (Lakers?) will multiply more than ever…
