Genk Transfer: Premier League Move Confirmed

KRC Genk continues to struggle in its own competition under Nicky Hayen, and participation in the Champions’ Play-Offs seems further away than ever. So we have to wait and see whether additional reinforcements will be brought in at the end of the winter mercato. In any case, there still seems to be some movement on the outgoing side.

Racing was already having a substandard season under Thorsten Fink. In December it was decided to end the collaboration with the German coach. However, they did not have to look for a successor for long. For example, Nicky Hayen, who had recently been sidelined by Club Brugge, was brought to the Cegeka Arena.

Reinforcements welcome

But for the time being this does not produce the desired effect. Although Genk won its European match against FC Utrecht, things continue to struggle in the competition. On Sunday, Genk also failed to get past Cercle Brugge (1-1) at home. This leaves it with 1 out of 9 under Hayen in the Jupiler Pro League. Play-Off I is suddenly very far away.

Hayen could therefore use some last-minute reinforcement. But of course the figures have to be correct, so outgoing deals are also taken into account. And the one who can really make a difference is Hyeon-gyu Oh. The South Korean could complete a transfer to the Premier League.

Fulham wil Oh

Last summer, Oh was within walking distance of the exit. VfB Stuttgart wanted to pay heavily for his arrival, but the German cunningly pulled the plug on the deal. Oh then got his chance as the first striker at Genk. However, that was not a great success. The 24-year-old has now been surpassed again in the striker hierarchy.

Nevertheless, he could now make a nice transfer. So claims Sky Sports that Fulham FC is having concrete discussions with Genk regarding the transfer of the South Korean. Negotiations with the current number seven in the Premier League are said to be positive. For the time being it is not known what amount of millions will be involved in a possible transfer.
