The statement made by Galatasaray regarding the issue is as follows:

“Dear Galatasaray fans,

The result we got in the Super Cup Final last night deeply saddened us all. As the Galatasaray community, we are not used to losing. Therefore, I wholeheartedly share the disappointment experienced by each of our fans.

First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize for the dissatisfaction experienced with the raincoats distributed to our fans during the organization due to bad weather conditions. The resulting image did not reflect a sensitivity befitting Galatasaray. This responsibility belongs to us and such problems will not occur in the coming period.

I also respect the criticisms about the transfer process. As we stated before, we achieve our goals not with ordinary reinforcements; We work to achieve this with quality, vision and correct planning. My request to our fans is that they trust us and that we complete this process together, with strong solidarity.

Raincoat and transfer statement from Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek: I apologize

Our determination is clear about the transfers that will take our football team even further and strengthen Galatasaray, and our work continues uninterruptedly.

On the other hand, I regretfully condemn the ugly chants rising from the opposing team’s stands during the moment of silence for Gökmen Özdenak, an important value for Galatasaray and Turkish football, and the low-level posts made by some of the club’s official social media accounts and some of its players after the match. I call on the Turkish Football Federation to take action regarding these ugly posts.

Respecting pain is not only in the values of our club, but also of our country. While we need to add honor to the competition between clubs in moments like these, it is not possible for us to ignore the disrespect shown.

Despite the legal findings and concrete facts that have recently appeared in public, our club has chosen not to make a statement about our opponent so far so as not to disrupt the atmosphere of brotherhood and peace in sports. However, these posts made after a victory, which were low-level and pushed the moral boundaries, clearly revealed the different perspectives of the two communities. I would especially like to remind you that; Those who attempt to make fun of Galatasaray’s greatness, history and values have found the dignity and determination of this community in front of them, and they will do so again.

The clear summary of last night is this: A community that is not used to losing has longed to win for a long time; We watched the encounter of a community that reflects the anger and lovelessness brought about by this longing.

class=”medyanet-inline-adv”>

We are sorry today. Galatasaray community has learned the necessary lessons from every disappointment it has experienced and emerged stronger and bigger. While we have a very important fixture ahead of us for our goals, now is the time to unite. No one should worry; We will make those who love Galatasaray happy again, just like in the past 3 years.

Kind regards,
Dursun Aydın Özbek”
