Reports: Füllkrug is out injured after his starting eleven debut
Niclas Füllkrug had barely started playing for Milan for the first time when, according to reports, an injury stopped the German national soccer player in the World Cup year. He will be out for the time being.
According to Italian media reports, Niclas Füllkrug has already suffered his first setback after his first starting eleven appearance for his new club. The 32-year-old German national soccer player has a broken toe and will be out for the time being. “Füllkrug already knocked out,” wrote “Corriere dello Sport”.
Will Füllkrug be canceled for four weeks?
According to “Gazzetta dello Sport”, Füllkrug will miss Como 1907 on Thursday and “almost certainly won’t be there on Sunday against Lecce either”. Milan hope to get the attacker fit again for the game against AS Roma on January 25th, but a lot will depend on the treatments and Füllkrug’s pain threshold, the report said.
Other media such as “Corriere della Sera” or “La Repubblica” wrote about a significant downtime: around a month. The national team’s next dates are at the end of March.
Lost through injury at West Ham too
Füllkrug started in the Milan uniform for the first time on Sunday – and promptly suffered the injury in the game against AC Florence. He was loaned from West Ham United to the Serie A club until the end of this season.
He missed several games at the Premier League club in October and November due to a torn muscle and was recently not even in the squad. With his commitment in Milan, Füllkrug also wants to recommend himself for the World Cup in the summer in the USA, Canada and Mexico. The center forward has not scored a goal in his three appearances for Milan so far.
