Victim of a fall in training two weeks ago in Steamboat, William Bostadloekken is now paraplegic, but clings to his dream of returning to the slopes.
An outing that turns into drama. Two weeks ago, the young Norwegian skier (20 years old) William Bostadloekken suffered a fall during training in Steamboat (United States) ahead of a freestyle ski World Cup round. While the tips of his skis “caught on at the moment of the jump” and that he has “landed with his head and back on the edge of the springboard”he is now paraplegic.
Despite this tragedy, the Norwegian continues to cling to his now main objective: to return to the slopes. “Skiing is truly what I love most in the world, it’s what I live for. I will do everything in my power to come back and relive that incredible feeling. It certainly won’t be easy. This will be the hardest challenge I will ever face. There’s no guarantee it’s possible, but I refuse to give up. I will always fight”he wrote on his Instagram account on Sunday, “with a heavy heart”.
