Fehérváry: 2 Assists in Capitals Win – NHL Today (Video)

Slovak hockey player Martin Fehérváry participated in Washington’s victory over Anaheim 7:4 in the NHL night game with two assists.

For the 26-year-old defenseman, it was the second multi-point game of the season and the first since October 18.

The Capitals snapped a two-game losing streak to extend Anaheim’s winless streak to six games.

Fehérváry started in the first defense pair with John Carlson. He spent 20:13 minutes on the ice, during which two plus points, two shots, two penalty minutes and two blocked shots were added to his statistics.

He received his first assist in the match in the 29th minute, when he participated in Alexander Ovechkin’s goal to make it 5:1.

With this goal, Ovechkin surpassed Gordie Howe and set a new NHL record for the number of home games in which he was able to score.

Washington’s captain later added his second goal of the game into an empty net and has 17 accurate shots this season.

He consolidated his position as the best scorer in NHL history with his 914th goal. Fehérváry has 3 goals, 11 assists and 12 plus points in the current season.

The main star of the match was 23-year-old rookie Justin Sourdif, who scored a hat trick and added two assists. He scored nine points in the past four games.

Rangers are not doing well at home

Defenseman Sean Durzi decided Utah’s triumph on the ice of the New York Rangers 3:2 after overtime. The home team led narrowly twice, but in the end they suffered their 14th home loss of the season.

They scored only 14 points on their own ice, which is the fewest of all teams in the Eastern Conference. In the league, only Vancouver players are worse (11 points).

In the 13th minute, the goalkeeping unit of the “riders” Igor Šestorkin left the game and was replaced by Jonathan Quick.

Utah recovered its appetite after losing on the ice of New Jersey and brought four points from the three-game trip, as it previously won on the ice of the NY Islanders.

Not even a significant shooting advantage (38:20) was enough for the Ottawa players to gain a point against Detroit. Already in the first period, they outshot the opponent 17:8, but the “red wings” led 3:0 after that. Although the home team was catching up with a goal, they were unable to equalize.

Ottawa lost the fourth game out of the past six. Forward James Van Riemsdyk helped Detroit with three points on a goal and two assists.

Seattle held Grubauer

Calgary players led against Seattle 1:0 from the 7th minute when Czech Adam Klapka scored. Jonathan Huberdeau could have increased their lead, but he didn’t score on a free kick.

After that, only Seattle players were scoring goals, which were significantly supported by goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer. He conceded only one goal from 42 shots and had a 97.06 percent save success rate in the match.

Seattle decided its triumph in the 3rd period, which it won 4-0. It was the Kraken’s third win in a row and seventh in the past eight games.

The Flames lost for the second time in a row and are three points behind in the Western Conference for their second wild card into the playoffs.

It is still held by the Los Angeles players, they beat Minnesota 4:2. The visitors failed to repay the “kings” for their recent loss and lost to them for the second time in three days.
