Francesco Farioli has already renewed his contract with FC Porto. Just over six months after arriving at Dragão, the Italian coach signed a new contract, valid until 2028, adding a season to the previous one, which was valid until the end of 2026/27.
The process progressed quickly and efficiently, something enhanced by the alignment between the parties reported last week. Farioli had already been approached by SAD led by André Villas-Boas, who had no doubts about rewarding the coach (and his staff) with improved contracts, given the performance presented by the blue and white team, leader of the championship with a 7-point advantage over Sporting, second placed, and with the qualification for the round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League well underway.
It is curious that the renovation was completed a few days before the classic against Benfica, in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup. A kind of demonstration of total trust and belief in the work of Farioli, 36 years old.
It should also be noted that the Italian’s contract is now valid until the end of Villas-Boas’ current term as president of FC Porto.
