The small training camp that FC Porto is holding in the Algarve allows players to take their families with them to reduce the impact of distance and provide the team with a more welcoming environment. However, according to JN, few footballers can count on the presence of family members during the four days that coach Francesco Farioli brought the team together to prepare for the second round of the championship.
The vast majority of the squad preferred to give up the presence of their family members because they understood that alone they could be more concentrated and also because they are not that many days away. Others because they consider that this change would have implications for the children’s habits, taking into account that they would be conditioned by the particularities of a hotel, even if the club took care to prepare logistics so that everyone was welcomed in the best possible way.
According to JN, coach Francesco Farioli and some assistants are attended by family members during the internship, as well as players Diogo Costa, Cláudio Ramos, João Costa, Francisco Ramos, Bednarek, Alan Varela and Alberto Costa. The concentration began on Tuesday and ends on Friday. The return to the competition is scheduled for next Wednesday, when FC Porto welcomes Benfica, in a game counting for the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup.
