Evan Soumilena: 2026 Asian Futsal Cup Prospects

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Pivot opportunities Evan Soumilena strengthen Indonesian National Futsal Team in the 2026 Futsal Asian Cup in Jakarta, January 27 to February 7.

The absence of Evan Soumilena on the short list or list of 19 players taking part in the training camp or TC for the Indonesian National Futsal Team is a highlight. The reason is that Evan has been the mainstay pivot of the National Futsal Team.

However, after a training session at GOR POPKI Cibubur, Monday (5/1), the assistant coach of the Indonesian National Futsal Team, Amril Daulay, said that Evan’s chances of appearing in the 2026 Asian Cup were small.

Currently Evan is recovering from an injury. The Indonesian Futsal National Team did not want the injury to get worse by forcing Evan to take part in TC.

“He (Evan) is on the long list, but he is currently recovering, so maybe he will focus on his recovery, because we are thinking long term, if he is forced to play then there will be relapses, so we are also thinking about the good for the players,” said Amril, quoted from Antara.

According to Amril, the door to the Indonesian National Futsal Team is always open to Evan Soumilena. Note that Evan has recovered enough.

“When he is ready, his legs are strong and he has recovered, he can join the national team,” said Amril.

In the 2026 Futsal Asian Cup, the Indonesian National Futsal Team is in Group A with Iraq, Kyrgyzstan and South Korea. The 2026 Asian Futsal Cup will be held at the Indonesia Arena and the Jakarta International Velodrome.
