Philadelphia general manager does not consider moving away from receiver after a ‘complicated’ 2026
PHILADELPHIA — The general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, Howie Rosemanstated that players like A.J. Brown are scarce, when asked if he would be willing to trade the standout wide receiver this offseason.
“It is difficult to find great players in the NFLand AJ is a great player,” Roseman said Thursday during his end-of-season press conference with coach Nick Sirianni.
“From my perspective, that’s what we’re looking for in free agency and in the draft: finding great players who love football, and he’s one of them.”
A.J. Brown He finished the 2025 season with 78 receptions for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, the fourth time he surpassed 1,000 yards in as many seasons since he came to Philadelphia.
However, Brown also showed his frustration at various times over the past two seasons, including cryptic social media posts at the start of this campaign. He declined to speak to the media in the latter part of the year, coinciding with his meeting with CEO Jeffrey Lurie in mid-November, and promised he would stop complaining publicly.
Brown had a quiet performance in Sunday’s playoff loss against the San Francisco 49ers, with three receptions for 25 yards and two dropped passes in seven attempts.
However, he has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and is the only player in the Eagles to record several seasons with more than 1,400 passing yards, the two best marks in franchise history.
Roseman gave a similar answer about Brown when speculation arose about a possible trade around the trade deadline in November.
“I think when you try to be a great team, it’s difficult to transfer great players, and A.J. Brown “He’s a great player,” Roseman stressed. “He wears the captain’s ‘C’ for a reason. He is an important part of this team, of this organization. “He cares about winning, he cares about his teammates, and I think when you’re a team like ours, that aspires to compete for a championship, you just don’t get rid of players like that.”
