What a wonderful evening in the Hogeveld sports hall!
In our home match against CT deBoer BCH, Dunlop DKC showed why we are at the top of the Eredivisie. With convincing play and nerves of steel at the decisive moments, we sent the visitors from Den Bosch home with a score of 7-1.
The start was immediately spectacular. In the men’s doubles, Michiel Kruijt and Gijs Duijs showed resilience. After losing the first set, they fought back to win in three sets. A nice start! Unfortunately, Chloe Tsai and Mara Lemmens had to admit their superiority in the women’s doubles against a strong playing duo from BCH, which later turned out to be the only point for the opponent.
Dunlop DKC was untouchable in the singles. Leader Mark Caljouw and Thomas Sibbald won their matches by a wide margin and Jaymie Laurens also left her opponent without a chance (21-9, 21-13). Flora Wang won her match due to an unfortunate surrender from opponent Mandy Duijndam early in the match.
The final chord in the mixed doubles caused quite a bit of tension. Gijs Duijs and Flora Wang played an absolute thriller that was only decided 21-19 in the third set. Mark Caljouw and Jaymie Laurens also drove the crowd crazy with a thrilling second set that ended 26-24.
A 7-1 victory that we can be proud of. This gives confidence for the next round!
