+++ Team 1 wins BOL game in Erda +++
After a good start to the season and a series of defeats of three games at the end of the first half of the season, the badminton players from Dillenburg’s first team made a successful start to the second half of the district league. In the early away game at VfB Erda 2, the team achieved a deserved 6-2 win.

The personnel concerns from the previous year were also present on Thursday evening (January 22nd, 2026), but this time they were better compensated for by the bottom team from Hohenahr than in previous games. With top player Robin Dietrich back on board, the game got off to a good start. Together with substitute Pascal Hartung, he won the second men’s doubles without any problems in two sets.
In the women’s doubles, another woman than previously planned came into play at short notice: Leni Stiefler. But the spontaneous jump in was worth it, together with Josefine Hof, Honigler won a confident two-set win, which meant a good start to the game. In the first men’s doubles, Paul Tetzner and Christian Becker were still showing signs of winter rust; both repeatedly made slight mistakes in their game and missed points. Although they narrowly lost in the second set, Erda still managed to make it 1:2.
Dillenburg then continued impressively in the individual disciplines. Team captain Christian Becker – playing for Dillenburg for the 200th time in a competitive match – left no stone unturned in the second men’s singles and clearly defeated his opponent in the end and only had to tremble a bit in the second set. The third men’s singles also went to Dillenburg: Paul Tetzner solved his task well and secured a secure victory, which already meant at least a draw with the score at 4:1.
Meanwhile, Robin Dietrich was already in the third set and initially had to bow to a strong start from his opponent in the first men’s singles, but turned the game around with willpower and secured sets two and three. This meant that the first chance to win was taken advantage of and the important fifth game point was scored before the fourth singles of the day went to the Oranienstadt team. In the women’s singles, Josefine Hof was convincing and also kept the upper hand in hard-fought rallies, which ultimately meant an unchallenged two-set win.
The final mixed doubles (Mixed) was initially open, but Erda increasingly exploited the weaknesses in the Dillenburg team. Pascal Hartung and Leni Honigler played together in this combination for the first time and were close to winning the set, especially in the first set, but ultimately had to let the hosts go first and give up the game after a mixed second set. In the end, however, this only meant cosmetic results; the final score of 6:2 reflects the strong team performance, especially across the board.
With the away win, the first team from TV 1843 Dillenburg gained some breathing room in the table with a view to the bottom, which once again underlines the importance of the two points they earned. The next match is scheduled for February 8th against table neighbors SG Stadtallendorf/Schröck 2 at home.
