Badminton and tennis team winter training… 2026 season begins in earnest

[더팩트ㅣ당진=천기영 기자] Dangjin City, South Chungcheong Province, announced on the 5th that the badminton and tennis teams belonging to the workplace sports department have begun full-scale winter training with the goal of winning the National Sports Festival in the new year of 2026.
The Dangjin City Hall badminton team is preparing for the new season through an intensive mid-winter program by conducting intensive training to strengthen physical strength and improve skills in the Haenam area of Jeollanam-do from this day to the 28th.
In particular, a large-scale reorganization of the team was carried out for 2026, and new players such as Park Si-hyun, Lee Sang-jun, and Kim Min-jun from the national team were recruited, including rookie Kim Min-seung, who had just joined the business team upon graduating from high school, to build a young and dynamic force.
They worked in harmony with existing experienced athletes and took the first step toward winning various national competitions and the 107th National Sports Festival to be held in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in October.
The tennis team will also conduct joint training with domestic business teams for two weeks from the same day, focusing on strengthening organizational skills and tactical training.
In particular, national team player Nam Ji-seong will kick off the season by participating in an international competition held in Thailand in January.
The Dangjin City Hall tennis team, considered one of the best business teams in the country, is determined to continue its reputation as the best in the country this year.
An official from Dangjin City said, “The workplace athletics team is the center and pride of Dangjin City’s sports,” and added, “Especially this year, as the 78th Chungcheongnam-do Sports Festival is being held in Dangjin, we will actively support it so that it can achieve excellent results along with pride as an elite sports city.”
Dangjin City is accelerating the creation of a sports-based city by nurturing excellent players centered on business teams, expanding the base of sports, and hosting national competitions.
