Ivory Coast‘s Badminton Federation Champions Gender Equality in Sports

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Ivorian Badminton federation (FIBAD) hosted a training session on December 17, 2024, in Aboisso, aimed at empowering 57 physical and sports educators from the Regional Directorate of National Education (DRENA). This strategic move seeks to elevate badminton’s presence in the region, with a special focus on encouraging young girls and women to embrace the sport.

Koua Aude, the General Secretary of FIBAD, emphasized that this training is a cornerstone of their broader strategy to foster badminton across diverse communities. “Our goal is to champion women’s sports and inspire young girls, women, and youth to take up badminton,” she stated. By equipping educators with the necessary skills and knowledge, FIBAD aims to create a ripple effect, inspiring students to engage in this dynamic sport.

Koné Fibla, the regional sports director of Sud-Comoé, expressed her gratitude for FIBAD’s initiative, highlighting its potential to integrate badminton into school curriculums.
