Daan and Mats Rots currently play together at FC Twente. The two both have their own lives, but also talk a lot about their football careers. The brothers say this in an interview with Football International.
“It’s nice to be able to share so much with each other,” says Mats Rots. “If a club comes for me or something like that, I will definitely go to Daan. Last year Ajax was interested. We will talk about that. But it did not become that concrete.” Daan Rots chimes in: “You talk about it at home, but I didn’t say: You have to do this or that.”
The attacker enjoys playing together with his brother. “It is wonderful to play together as brothers, but we should not be guided by that. We make our choices independently of each other. I hope that we can play together for at least another year, but it could also only be a few months. Then I am thinking of an offer for Mats that Twente cannot refuse.”
“If you continue like this, you might be gone sooner,” the defender thinks. Daan Rots: “After Twente, I don’t see us playing together anywhere anytime soon. At SV Grol, yes. The Dutch national team? Haha. He can make it, I don’t see that happening for me. But you never know. You can fantasize. But I am also realistic. What we are experiencing now is very special. We must cherish that time together,” says the attacker.
