Croatia Qualifies: Sweden & Iceland Face Uncertainty

The suspense remains in Group 2 before the last day which will offer two tickets for the semi-finals of the Euro.

Croatia took the lead in its group in the race to qualify for the semi-final of the Euro handball on Tuesday, thanks to its victory against Slovenia (29-25) during the 3rd day of the main round.

In a four-way battle in Group II, Iceland and Sweden were respectively held to a draw by Switzerland (38-38) and Hungary (32-32). On the Swedish side, goalkeeper Andreas Palicka saw his attempt against the empty goal miss in the last second of the match.

Icelanders and Swedes now have five points, behind Croatia (6 pts) while Slovenia has four. Everything will be decided on the final day on Wednesday, including Slovenia-Iceland and Sweden-Switzerland duels.

In Group I, Denmark has already secured its place in the last four. The second ticket will be played on Wednesday (6:00 p.m.) between Germany and France.
