The round of 16 of the French Football Cup left no room for surprises, at least very few. As for the Ligue 2 teams, everyone has passed with the exception of obviously the two 100% second division confrontations.
Two matches still have to be played, the first is scheduled for this Monday at 9:10 p.m., it is the Paris derby between Paris Saint-Germain and the Paris Football Club at the Parc des Princes. Tuesday, the round of 16 of the Coupe de France will end with an unbalanced clash on paper between Bayeux FC (Regional 1) and Olympique de Marseille. A meeting which will take place at the Michel D’Ornano stadium, the usual home of players from the Stade Malherbe in Caen, which will obviously be full for the occasion.
Note the qualification of the executioner of AS Saint-Étienne in the previous round. OGC Nice won on the Nantes pitch via penalties. For the rest, no surprises, the hierarchy was respected with the exception of the meeting between Metz and Montpellier. The Ligue 2 residents largely won on the Ligue 1 team’s field (0-4).
Looking at the results, we will note that it was good to play outside on this tour.
