In order to enrich the cultural and sports life of graduate students on campus, enhance their physical fitness, and create a positive and energetic campus sports atmosphere. Recently, the four colleges of Light Industry, Computer Science, Civil Engineering and Ecology jointly held the first “Competition Cup” graduate basketball competition. This competition uses a points round-robin system to carry out multiple rounds of duels, with teams from each college competing in pairs and competing in turns.
On the field, graduate student athletes from four colleges lost their composure and restraint in the laboratory, showing their youthful and high-spirited spirit and solid and excellent competitive qualities. Whether it is the extremely fast running between offense and defense, the decisive shooting from beyond the three-point line, the fierce competition in the basket area, or the tacit understanding between teammates, every wonderful moment embodies the athletes’ love for basketball.
Sweat soaked through the jerseys and shouts echoed throughout the field. The graduate students relieved the pressure of scientific research in the fierce competition and deepened the cross-department friendship while fighting side by side. They vividly interpreted the sports spirit of “friendship first, competition second”, and also demonstrated the diverse style of GTI graduate students who combine deep scientific research with sports vitality – both the concentration and perseverance in overcoming difficulties in the laboratory, and the heroic spirit of striving for the first place on the field. Off the field, teachers and students cheered one after another, cheering for every accurate score and encouraging every tenacious perseverance, which continued to heat up the campus sports atmosphere and demonstrated the positive campus culture.
As an inter-department campus sports event that integrates competitiveness, communication and educational value, the first “Competition Cup” graduate student basketball game not only provides a high-quality platform for graduate students from various colleges to compete and blend cultures, but also effectively condenses the centripetal force of the campus, strengthens the sense of belonging of the graduate student group, further ignites the enthusiasm of teachers and students across the school to participate in sports, and injects vigorous momentum into the construction of campus culture.
In the future, the college will continue to deepen the construction of campus culture and sports, closely follow the growth and development needs of graduate students, and create more communication opportunities for graduate students to combine work and rest and empower all-round development, so as to help students on the road to scientific research and pursue their dreams.
