Despite the fact that he has played more than 130 matches in the DAC Dunajská Streda jersey, his mission on Rye Island is coming to an end, which should come already during the winter transfer window. Midfielder Christián Herc will most likely move outside the Nike League.
He wore the captain’s armband in a total of 18 matches and, until recently, was one of the main pillars of Dunajská Streda’s midfield. In the “yellow-blue” jersey, he was a player who was already connected to the club from MOL Arena, but this until recently strong connection will apparently break. Christian Herc gradually got sidetracked on Rye Island, and we probably won’t see this 27-year-old native of Levice in the Niké League in the spring.
The actor suffered health problems with his ankle at the beginning of the season, which delayed his start to the new year of the highest Slovak football competition, and after further treatment he was unable to fully work his way back into coach Branislav Fodrek’s starting eleven.
Out of the last 6 autumn games, he got on the field only once, and that was for 7 minutes. In the remaining meetings, he supported his team only from the substitutes’ bench. Christián Herc’s situation will most likely be resolved already during the winter transfer window, and everything indicates that this creative midfielder will once again choose to leave the borders of Slovakia after two and a half years.
Beyond the borders, yes, within the Nike League rather not
According to ŠPORT.sk, the management of DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda is no longer considering Christián Herc for the spring part of the season, and the player has the opportunity to look for a new club. His contract will expire during the next summer, so the 4-time Slovak representative already has the opportunity to negotiate with potential candidates.

The team shows a great mentality and should stay together even after the winter break. The goal is clearly defined, even if it is not spoken about out loud. Dunajská Streda plans to fulfill their dreams in the spring, because the DAC staff is very hungry for success. Coach Branislav Fodrek told ŠPORT.sk.
However, as we learned, Herc has a promise from the DAC that he can go abroad for free, even if he still has a valid contract (it ends in the summer of 2026, editor’s note). Within Slovakia, such an option does not apply, even if there is interest in the services of this player in the Nike League.
However, the management of the club from Žitné ostrov would demand severance pay in this case. On the specialized football portal Transfermarkt, the market value of Christián Herc is at the level of 500,000 euros (the last update is from December 19, 2025). However, Dunajská Streda prefers him to go abroad and not sell his footballer to a competitor in the league.
England, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Slovakia
Christián Herc has had a very interesting career, during which he was a valid member of the youth selections of the Slovak national team and also made 4 starts for seniors.
At the club level, he went from junior club FC Nitra to England’s Wolverhampton Wanderers, and from this club he jumped to Dunajská Streda, Czech clubs Viktoria Plzeň, MFK Karviná, and finally signed for Swiss Grasshoppers.
He stayed at the Zurich club for two and a half years, after which he moved back to DAC after 4 years. His further future is questionable for now, but it can be assumed that Christián Herc could continue his career in either the Czech Chance League or the Polish Ekstraklasa, but his departure to the Middle East is not ruled out either. An important preference is for his new club to play in a quality competition and have his ambitions. Everything important will be decided during January.
