Castelnaudary Archers: Aude Championship Success

the essential
The Chaurian archers did not come to Limoux for nothing, getting on the podium several times in both the recurve and compound bows. Well done to the archers, young and old.

On January 25, the departmental archery championship took place in the gymnasium of the town of Limoux. Archers from Limoux of course, but also from Carcassonne, Narbonne, Bizanet and Montferrand with among the 66 competitors present, 17 archers from Castelnaudary. A Sunday day which started very early since at 8:30 a.m. the referees were already checking everyone’s equipment. After the morning’s qualifying shooting, our archers began the duels (matches between two archers each generally shooting around fifteen arrows and qualifying the winner to the next phase) to climb into the final phases. Of the 17 Chaurian archers, 14 were still qualified at 4:30 p.m., after magnificent duels which very often came down to the result of the last arrow. Many podiums for the Chaurians with very promising young archers and more experienced ones who do not intend to let themselves be caught up. A very beautiful day that the weather did not disturb thanks to the perfect organization of the Limoux club and the departmental committee and the Limoux club. Some of these archers will go to the Occitanie regional championship on February 7, 8, 14 and 15 and even to the French championship in Moulin at the end of February. We wish them very good arrows.
