Salamanca sport once again stands out at the national level thanks to the marksmanship of Miguel Ángel Carrasco Ramos. The archer, a native of The Pumareda Bush and belonging to the club Archers of Sol XIVhas returned from the Spanish Archery Championship, in the 3D Indoor modality, with two medals hanging around his neck after his participation in Ciudad Real.
The competition, held last weekend at the Fair Pavilion in the city of La Mancha, had a large influx of participants. During the days of Friday and Saturday, Carrasco demonstrated his experience in this tournament, managing to get on the podium and maintaining a streak of consecutive successes in the national championship.
In the individual section, the man from Salamanca had a very outstanding performance. After obtaining the fifth place in the qualifying phase against high-level rivals, he overcame the qualifying rounds until reaching the semifinals. In this decisive round, he missed the final by a minimal margin of a single point. Far from collapsing, in the dispute for third place Carrasco showed his best version: he was very solid and secured the bronze medal with an almost perfect score of 87 points out of 88 possible.
The success was completed shortly after in the competition for mixed teams. Representing the selection of Castile and Leónthe charro goalkeeper added his second medal of the championship, obtaining an excellent position given the high demands of the tournament.
This double victory represents an unbeatable start to the season for Miguel Ángel Carrasco, who faces a year full of regional and national competitions. The big goal on the horizon is qualification for the next Worldwhich will be held in September in Yankton (United States).
