In the Chinese championship, Yannick Carrasco stayed for two years before returning to Atletico Madrid. The Brussels resident reached the two-year milestone at Al-Shabab this fall, he is one of the most important players (5 goals in 10 league matches and the status of captain).
But times are hard for Al-Shabab : the team is 15th in the standings, tied on points with Al-Riyadh, first relegated. Financially, the club is also experiencing some difficulties.
A few days ago already, we told you about management’s intention to relieve themselves of a big contract by pushing Carrasco towards the exit despite his status within the group. A scenario which is gradually being confirmed.
An equation with several unknowns
This afternoon, Fabrizio Romano explained that Juventus was one of the interested clubs. The Old Lady is eyeing Federico Chiesa, a former member of the house, but Liverpool have not yet agreed to release him, so Carrasco could act as plan B.

Transferred from Turin for 12 million in 2024, Chiesa is far from the confidence he displayed in Serie A. This season again, he has only started one English championship match as a starter. But Arne Slot regularly uses him as a supersub. Enough to encourage Juventus to have to review its plans?
