CAN 2025: Jan 6 Schedule & Algeria’s Surprise

The eight best teams for the 2025 African Cup of Nations will be known this Tuesday evening. Two great posters – including the shock of this start of the knockout phase – of the round of 16 of the tournament will be held in Morocco.

The game was highlighted by those mainly involved and by all of the tournament’s followers: Algeria will meet the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Prince Moulay El Hassan stadium in Rabat. Ivory Coast will challenge Burkina Faso at the Marrakech Stadium.

The matches of January 6

Round of 16:

Algeria – Democratic Republic of Congo (5 p.m., live commentary on Le Parisien)

Ivory Coast – Burkina Faso (8 p.m., live commentary on Le Parisien)

The Fennecs are coming out of a controlled and spectacular group stage. Three victories in three matches, nine points and an advantageous goal difference (+6), but less adversity than that experienced by the Leopards. The latter kept Senegal in check, who beat them on goal average in group D.

The reigning Ivorian champions, for their part, escaped from one of the most tricky groups in the CAN. Seven points collected in a table made up of Cameroon, Mozambique and Gabon is a great performance. They will move on to the Burkina Faso, second in Group E behind Algeria.
