BV Verden remains in the badminton district league with two 4:4 draws. But on February 8th there will be a showdown against the rivals from Celle with the same points.
Verden – top of the table successfully defended: In the badminton district league, BV Verden achieved a 4:4 on the second day of the second half of the season both against hosts BSG Wallhöfen/Ihlpohl and in a duel with BSG Böhmetal. The second team lost in the district league Primus Wallhöfen/Ihlpohl IV 2:6, but defeated SG Fortuna Rotenburg/Waffensen/Sottrum II 5:3.
Wallhöfen – World I 4:4. After defeats in both men’s doubles and women’s doubles, team captain Dominic Wardin and Co. were under pressure with an interim score of 0:3. In the men’s singles, Jannik Denecke was able to turn his match around after losing the first set. With 18:21, 21:18, 26:24 he narrowly won the game and scored the first point for the Allerstadt team. Dominic Wardin, Jonas Vullmer and Ulrike Hensen each won in two sets and took the lead 4:3. In the mixed doubles, which is traditionally played last, it was a matter of win or draw. Not much went well for Eva Neudeck and Frank Lindenau against Arndt Petersen and Rebecca Semken. The host duo scored 13:21, 12:21. “We just didn’t get into the game, we weren’t there,” commented Neudeck.
Second gets 2:2 points
Bohemian metal – World 4:4. In the second encounter, the Verden team met BSG Böhmetal. Here the BV women were superior in both doubles and singles. Jannik Denecke and Dominic Wardin scored the further points in the Herreinindividuals – the final score was again 4:4. This means that Verden remains at the top of the table, tied on points with SG Celle/Westercelle. The leading teams will meet head-to-head on February 8th. So it couldn’t be more exciting.
World II – Wallhöfen/Ihlpohl IV 2:6. Heiner Schiller and Heiko Bouwmann won the men’s doubles. Lars Weizenkorn also won the first men’s singles. In the other disciplines, the Verden team was left behind. The expectedly difficult game against the league leaders ended with 2:6.
Verden II – Rotenburg/Waffensen/Sottrum II 5:3. As in the first half of the season, not all of Rotenburg arrived. The women’s doubles could not be played. Verden II started with 1-0. The men’s doubles Schiller/Kampeier and Exner/Bouwmann won confidently in two sets to 3-0. Things got down to business in the following individual matches: First, Lisa Christophers played an exhausting game over three sets. Once again she narrowly had to admit defeat to Melissa Maas – 15:21, 21:17, 19:21. At the same time, Konrad Exner faced Jetullahi Besmir in the 3rd men’s singles. This duel also went the full length, with Verden losing out here too – 18:21, 25:23, 19:21. Exner is annoyed by “too many unnecessary errors.” Lars Weizenkorn and Heiko Bouwmann left nothing to be desired in the 1st and 2nd men’s singles – 5:2. In the mixed, Weizenkorn/Schliephake had starting difficulties. After a weak first set, they improved in the second round. However, it wasn’t enough to turn the game around. So it was 5:3. The Allerstädter will face TuS Zeven II and TuS Elsdorf I in Elsdorf on February 8th.
