Brunson was the Knicks’ top offensive reference when score 28 pointsincluding three-pointers and key baskets in the fourth quarter, a period in which New York made the definitive difference.
Total dominance of the Knicks in the fourth quarter
The game was tied 72-72 after three quartersbut the Knicks imposed conditions on the closing with a partial 31-15 that left Sacramento without a response.
Mikal Bridges contributed 18 pointswhile Karl-Anthony Towns signed a solid double-double with 17 points and 11 reboundsbeing key both in attack and in the fight under the boards.

Brunson seals the match in the closing
Towns opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer and later hit another to complete a streak of 8-2 that put the Knicks on top 80-74. Although DeMar DeRozan brought the Kings closer with a basket for the 90-85Brunson took full control of the game.
The New York point guard made a triple, two consecutive baskets and, after a technical foul called against Sacramento, added a free throw and another triple to complete a 13-0 streak that led the score to 103-85sealing the victory.
Sacramento continues in bad streak
For the Kings, DeMar DeRozan was the best with 34 pointsbut it was not enough to avoid the sixth consecutive defeat of the team. Russell Westbrook contributed 14 pointsalthough both combined for a poor 3 of 16 in triplesreflection of a complicated night from the perimeter. Sacramento ended with a 5 of 30 on three-point shots (16.7%).
The meeting also had a special meaning for Mike Brownwho got his first victory as coach of the Knicks against Sacramentothe team that fired him last season, two years after being named NBA Coach of the Year after leading the Kings to the 2023 playoffs.
