Broncos coach Sean Payton comments on quarterback Bo Nix’s susceptibility to injuries – but he disagrees.
Trouble at the Denver Broncos? In the divisional round game of the playoffs against the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Bo Nix suffered a broken ankle. The NFL season ended early for him.
Head coach Sean Payton recently said doctors determined that Nix was “vulnerable” to such an injury when they treated him surgically. A statement that the playmaker himself has now contradicted.
For the first time since his surgery, the 25-year-old appeared in front of the press and clarified that his ankle was “not predisposed” and that Payton may have “mixed something up.”
The signal caller had broken his ankle in high school and college, but said Payton shouldn’t have talked about his player’s previous surgeries. “Sean shouldn’t have said how many surgeries I had because he doesn’t know that,” Nix said.
Nothing contradicts Payton
Nix does not consider himself to be prone to injuries and instead pointed to a long time without such problems. He has “absolutely” no concerns that his current broken ankle could affect his sporting future in any way.
“As far as resilience goes, I’ve played for about four years, probably over 60 games in a row, and haven’t missed a game,” the playmaker said, according to the Denver Post.
By the way: Nix also sees no problem in preparing for the new season. So he assumes that he can start training at the same time as he would have started if he had not been injured.
