Jimenez, 29, won the silver bat with the Chicago White Sox in 2020 and played with the Buffalo Bisons (AAA), affiliate of the Blue Jays, in 2025.

The player, who has six seasons under his belt, finished fourth in the American League Rookie of the Year voting in 2019 after maintaining a batting average of ‚267 with 31 home runs in his first season. In 534 career games, Jimenez has a .269 batting average with 95 home runs.

Mendoza, 25, maintained a ‚287 batting average, with seven home runs and 41 RBIs in 97 games split between Level AA (82 games) and Level A (14 games) in the 2025 Detroit Tigers organization.

Plassmeyer, 29, played his last Major League Baseball game in 2023 with the Philadelphia Phillies, where he maintained a 22.09 ERA in 3.2 innings.

Alcala, 30, played for three teams in 2025, split between the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cards. He has a 4.29 ERA in 200 games as a reliever over seven seasons.

Lantigua, 27, has spent seven seasons in the Blue Jays organization since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Last season, he played in the Phillies organization, where he had a .230 batting average in 125 games with the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (AAA).

The Blue Jays begin camp in less than a month. Pitchers and catchers are expected in Dunedin, Florida, on Wednesday, February 11. The full team’s first practice will take place on Monday, February 16.

Toronto will then begin its preseason game schedule on Saturday, February 21 against the Phillies.
