Then Robert Kraft gave his opinion in a press release sent to the Associated Press.
“Regardless of any perceptions that may exist regarding possible personal differences between Bill and me, I am convinced that Bill Belichick’s track record and body of work speak for themselves. As coach of the New England Patriots for more than twenty years, he set the standard for on-field excellence, preparation and sustained success in the NFL’s free agent market and salary cap era. He is the greatest coach of all time and unquestionably deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. »
The Bill Belichick case creates chaos in Canton
The veto given to Bill Belichick to enter the Hall of Fame caused so much discussion that the institution had to react. It published a press release on Wednesday evening to take stock of the situation.

These measures could go as far as excluding the member(s) concerned from the committee. Selecting a new class is the Hall of Fame’s most important mission each year, and the integrity of this process is paramount. »
