Belichick: Brady & Kraft’s Defense

Bill Belichick will not enter the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. A decision that caused a stir in the world of the NFL. Reactions of support for the legendary coach have multiplied since then.

Obviously, we also awaited the reactions of Tom Brady and Robert Kraft. We know that relations are not good between the 3 men who made New England’s glory days. But faced with this choice from the Hall of Fame selection committee, Tom Brady and Robert Kraft did not miss the opportunity to support Belichick.

On a radio show, Tom Brady reacted first.

” I don’t understand. I was with him every day. If he is not elected in the 1st round of the Hall of Fame, no coach should be, which is completely ridiculous because some deserve it. Bill is incredible. There is no coach I would rather play for. If I had to choose a coach to win a Super Bowl, for just one season, I would choose Bill Belichick. That’s it, that’s all. There is nothing else to add. He will eventually enter the Hall of Fame. I don’t doubt it. We will all be there to celebrate it when the time comes. There will be a huge crowd of players and coaches who appreciated everything he accomplished, his commitment to winning and the impact he had on our lives. It will be a memorable party. »

Then Robert Kraft gave his opinion in a press release sent to the Associated Press.

“Regardless of any perceptions that may exist regarding possible personal differences between Bill and me, I am convinced that Bill Belichick’s track record and body of work speak for themselves. As coach of the New England Patriots for more than twenty years, he set the standard for on-field excellence, preparation and sustained success in the NFL’s free agent market and salary cap era. He is the greatest coach of all time and unquestionably deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. »

The Bill Belichick case creates chaos in Canton

The veto given to Bill Belichick to enter the Hall of Fame caused so much discussion that the institution had to react. It published a press release on Wednesday evening to take stock of the situation.

“The Pro Football Hall of Fame understands and respects the passionate reaction of many fans, journalists and Hall of Fame members following the release of the voting results for the Class of 2026. It is this passion that drives the sport.

The Hall of Fame also respects the members of the Selection Committee when they follow the rules of procedure. It is an honor to be a member of the selection committee.

Each year, the Hall of Fame reviews the selection process and the composition of the 50-person Selection Committee. If one or more members are found guilty of violating the house rules, they know that action will be taken.

These measures could go as far as excluding the member(s) concerned from the committee. Selecting a new class is the Hall of Fame’s most important mission each year, and the integrity of this process is paramount. »

Heads could therefore “roll” in the coming days.
