Badminton

VEENENDAAL The badminton players of BC ‘t Veen achieved an important victory on Saturday. Helios was beaten 5-3 in their own sports hall De Vallei, which means that the Veenendalers are out of last place.

Wouter Fondse and Ben van Luttikhuizen were unbeatable at ‘t Veen this Saturday. Together they won their men’s doubles, they both won their singles and together with Jamie van Brienen and Janneke Bevaart they also won the mixed doubles. With the victory, ‘t Veen rises two places and is now in sixth place in the fourth division.

DRAGON NORTH

The men of WSV Dragonder Noord regained the lead in their competition. The Veenendalers lost little to opponent Apollo 3 on Saturday: 8-0. With this, the Veenendalers passed Helios again, which did not play this weekend and still has a match in hand.

The WSV Dronder Noord mix team played the sub-topper against ‘t Slot 3. The numbers two and three in the competition were quite evenly matched. When the mixed doubles had to start the score was 3-3 and Dragonder seemed to have the best chance of winning by winning the first mixed doubles. In the last game, however, the Veenendalers had to retire due to an injury, so the game ended 4-4.
