The work did not stop during the Christmas period. And, in 2026 with the completion of construction for the Corso Europa Arena, there is already a first announcement from Cantù Next, the Spa that designed the new multifunctional building on Corso Europa: as early as the summer, Pallacanestro Cantù, in fact, will train in the secondary gym, the building currently in the most advanced phase.
News which, for the team playing in Desio, already has the air of a first homecoming, after the expected opening for basketball games and other events starting from the end of the year.
The glass is already glittering with reflections
There is no shortage of updates from the Cantù Arena construction site – the Spa of which Cantù Next itself is the majority – involved in the construction of what already seems like a small citadel of reference for sport and entertainment. The most important of these comes from the gym building which will be dedicated to training.
Work is underway to cover the surfaces by Lattonedil. On the side visible from the overpass, the glass window, which is nearing completion, is already glittering with reflections. Still on the subject of cladding, we will then continue with the other side of the building. The so-called secondary gym – as the second field in the area: the first is the parquet inside the Arena – will be the first building to be completed, for use already during the summer. So much so that the systems are also being prepared.
As for the Arena itself: the third of five parts of the roof have been placed on the ground and are waiting to be raised early next week. In this case, the South Tyrolean company Pichler is taking care of it. And this is another important aspect: when the entire surface of the Arena is covered, we will be able to start working on other more detailed aspects.
Certainly the Arena, compared to just a few months ago, already shows itself in all its structure. Meanwhile, still visible from the Corso Europa side, you can see that Cobet is working on the medium sales area located underneath the most central building, the hospitality one. Just before Christmas, the entire area was being prepared for zero rise. Here too, with verticality, we now begin to climb upwards.
