After finishing the calendar year 2025 in a great way, FC Barcelona faced Espanyol in LaLiga in the Catalan derby. In a match that was more even than expected, the Blaugranas added the three points thanks to goals from Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski in the final minutes of the match.
The team led by Hansi Flick will compete for their first official title of the season next week when they perform in the Spanish Super Cup in Arabia, awaiting the return of the Champions League at the end of the month.
Consequently, the culé team will have to face a short-term, accessible calendar, without including a Super Cup in which, if they advance to the final, they will compete against Real Madrid or Atlético.
FC Barcelona vs. Athletic Club, semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup
Flick’s successful first season at the helm of Barça began at the level of coronations, precisely with this Super Cup in Arabia, a year ago. In fact, the Blaugranas beat the Bilbao Lions themselves 0-2 in the semis, prior to beating Madrid in the summit duel. Likewise, the two teams clashed less than two months ago in LaLiga and the Catalans ended up winning 4-0.

Real Sociedad vs. FC Barcelona, matchday 20 of LaLiga

If the blaugranas beat Athletic in the semi-finals, they will play the final of the Super Cup against the winner between meringues and colchoneros. Having said that, the only thing that is certain is that the culé team will return to league action on January 18 when they visit the always complicated Real Sociedad. Of course, the San Sebastian team are in their worst campaign in years, so much so that they are fighting to avoid relegation.

Slavia Prague vs. FC Barcelona, day 7 of the UEFA Champions League

If the Catalan club wants to maintain its chances of qualifying directly for the round of 16 in the Champions League, it is condemned to carry out the two remaining matches of the initial phase, including the one on January 21 at Sparta Prague’s field. In fact, the Blaugranas are not at all guaranteed to be in the top 8 adding the aforementioned six points at stake.

FC Barcelona vs. Oviedo, day 21 of LaLiga

The current Spanish champion will enjoy, on paper, its easiest matchup in the upcoming calendar, given that a few days after visiting Sparta Prague it will host an Oviedo team that is a serious candidate for relegation.
- 01/25/26 (date and time to be confirmed): FC Barcelona vs. Oviedo – LaLiga
FC Barcelona vs. Copenhagen, day 8 of the UEFA Champions League

Assuming they get three points against Sparta, Barça will also need to beat the Danish team on January 28, on the final day of the first round in the “La Orejona” tournament. A challenge that will be played at the Camp Nou, so in theory, it should not represent a major challenge for those from Barcelona.
- 28/01/26: FC Barcelona vs. Copenhague – UEFA Champions League (15:00 ET US, 14:00 MX DF, 21:00 ESP)
