Few surprises for this first big meeting of the season for the men. World number 1 Carlos Alcaraz, as well as the other top three seeds, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic, will all be in the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
If Sinner easily got rid of Ben Shelton in three sets (6-3, 6-4, 6-4), if Alcaraz strolled against Alex de Minaur (7-5, 6-2, 6-1), Zverev had to work a little harder to take out Learner Tien (6-3, 6-7, 6-1, 7-6). Djokovic benefited from the abandonment of Lorenzo Musetti when he was down two sets to nothing.
But the Serbian will therefore be there for the semi-finals. He will face the Italian Sinner. Zverev will have to take out Alcaraz to get his ticket to the final.
