Excellent placings for ASD Polisportiva Pegasus at the Regional Indoor Archery Championships, held yesterday, January 11, in Termoli. The race took place indoors, in a gym made particularly cold by the weather conditions, a factor that affected the performances and made the test even more physically and mentally demanding.
The company of Triventoactive since 1985 and with a long tradition in archery, has nevertheless confirmed its value, obtaining notable results in both the Absolute and Class Regional Championships. The group, followed by coach Pierluigi Fierro, managed to stand out despite a numerically limited participation.
In the Absolute Regional Championship the gold medal in the compound arch was achieved with Benedetto Parisi, the silver in the compound arch with Domenico Del Castello and the silver in the Olympic arch with Deborah Griguoli. Also noteworthy is the bronze in bare bow won by Peppino De Innocentis, in his first official competition.
Good results also in the Regional Class Championship, where Manuel Florio obtained silver in the men’s senior Olympic, Deborah Griguoli won gold in the women’s junior Olympic, Domenico Del Castello the silver in the senior compound and Benedetto Parisi the bronze in the same specialty. Silver medal for Irene Scampoli in the senior women’s naked arch and bronze for Peppino De Innocentis in the master men’s naked arch.
«We were few and in a difficult context – commented Fierro – but we still managed to win many medals. The difficulties were great, but the group demonstrated character and determination.”
Some athletes from the team also took part in the event ASD Dance Academy Inclusione Of Vastwhich contributed to the overall success and enriched the sporting project of the Triventino club.
The archery courses of the Polisportiva Pegasus continue regularly in Vasto on Wednesdays and in Castiglione Messer Marino on Fridays. Having archived the positive outcome of the Indoor Regionals, attention is now turned to the next objective: qualification for the Italian Indoor Championships scheduled for Rome in February.
