Shams Charania reveals the latest on Anthony Davis’ condition and the possibility of him being traded by the Dallas Mavs before the February 5th Trade Deadline.
The big man will most likely be forced to undergo surgery due to the ligament injury in his left hand. With recovery time estimated at several months, his season in Texas may already be over.
The ESPN reporter, however, adds that the Mavs have begun to negotiate the sale of Davis with more determination ‘with several interested teams’.
If he lands in a contender, the 10-time All Star could return to the field during the Playoffs, to show his value in the hope of signing a new multi-year agreement.
Since his arrival in Dallas, Davis has played in 29 regular season games plus two Play-In games.
UPDATE: Davis He’s back on X after several months to deny the news about recovery times: “Stop listening to all the lies that go around on these Apps.”
Marc Stein he adds that at the Mavs there would be optimism about his return to the field in March, even if he actually ends up under the knife.
Fascinating development: The Mavericks are having renewed Davis trade talks with multiple interested teams, sources said. If moved to a playoff contender, the return timeline could allow Davis to return during the postseason while establishing himself for the long-term elsewhere. https://t.co/RtoY5SutHr
