Alvar Myhlback: Ski Classics Breakthrough Imminent

Alvar Myhlback was far behind the field for a long time, he was forced to let go of the tight bunch, and did not look like he had anything to do with the top in the season debut in Ski Classics.

– A bit worrying actually. He is so young and tough in many ways, that he has not been involved and made a difference up front is surprising, said SVT’s expert Anders Blomquist in the broadcast.

But when it was to be decided, the 19-year-old suddenly appeared in the lead and claimed the podium.

But in the last kilometer, Myhlback fell back and finished just after the Norwegian winner Amund Riege.

Double Norwegian on the podium

Jeremy Royer of France finished second and Magnus Vesterheim of Norway grabbed third place.

– What a stool that turned out to be. Oh, oh, oh, says Anders Blomquist.

The best Swede was Axel Jutterström in shared fifth place after an impressive race.

– After doing so much work along the track, says SVT’s commentator Jacob Hård.

– I felt energetic. I had a tactic with the team that we would be offensive if we were alert, says Jutterström after the race.

– The shape feels very good.

Alfred Busqvist ensured that there were three Swedes in the top ten with his tenth place.
