Ibrahim Cissé has been very successful in Finland in recent years. The 1.90-tall centre-back has won the Finnish league with KuPS two seasons in a row and also played outside in Europe.
As late as December 18, Cissé scored for KuPS away to Premier League club Crystal Palace in the Europa Conference League – where they drew 2-2.
The defender chose to leave KuPS at the turn of the year when his contract expired and he has since been probing the terrain for an adventure beyond Finland’s borders.
Can go to AIK
Now the former KuPS defender is highly relevant for the Allsvenskan this spring. According to information to Expressen, AIK has contacted regarding the signing of Ibrahim Cissé.
The parties are in dialogue about a transfer and Cissé, as you know, is currently without a contract, which means that AIK can sign him as a boss before the Allsvenskan.

AIK has been chasing centre-backs this winter. The club has been rumored to be looking for Lyns Massiré Sylla and Madiodio Dia in Haugesund – two physically strong centre-back pieces.
But Sylla was recently presented by Royale Union in Belgium and Dia also looks like it will be tough to get rid of Haugesund as the total package for the deal looks to be too expensive.
Now AIK can sign Ibrahim Cissé instead. He is described as a physically strong centre-back with strengths in the main game, but also fine skills in the game with the ball.
Ibrahim Cissé has played for several French clubs – including AS Nancy, OGC Nice and Le Mans FC. Cissé was also on the news for Djurgården a year ago when Jani Honkavaara just took over the club, but a move never materialized then. Instead, Cissé remained in KuPS where he later won the league title again.
