Adam Goljer: Dukla Trenčín Starlet Scores Key Goal

In Sunday’s match between the two, Dukiel was reduced to 1:2 after a quick counterattack by the still only 17-year-old defender from Trenčín, Adam Goljer, thus achieving an important milestone.

In addition, in mid-January, he was the best rated Slovak for the 2026 draft in the most recent edition of pre-draft rankings from NHL Central Scouting.

Independent scouts ranked him 13th among skaters active in Europe. It’s great that he continues to prove his extraordinary talent.

Goljero’s exceptional moment came in the 25th minute when Jordan Bellerive sent a free Jaedon Descheneau into the counterattack.

Goljer was in the defensive zone at the time, but immediately began to skate at full speed to support his teammate.

After entering the zone, Descheneau slowed down and saw Goljer skating from the second wave and sent a cross pass to him.

The promising youngster did not hesitate and coolly beat the goalkeeper Vladimír Glosár in the Michaloviec goal after the first shot.

However, it was not enough for his team to win, Trenčín lost to Michalovčany 2:4.

He conquered the 10-point goal

Despite his age, Goljer gets a lot of space in Trenčín. He usually plays over 20 minutes per match, while being the director of power plays. The goal into the Michaloviec net was also his tenth point of the season.

In the past, only four defenders – Tomáš Slovák, Erik Černák, Brandt Clarke and Šimon Nemec – reached this goal among teenagers, i.e. players falling into the U18 category.

They were all drafted relatively high. The German was the second overall pick in the 2022 draft, Clarke the eighth pick the year before (2021), Černák was selected from the 43rd place (2015) and the Slovak from the 42nd position (2001).

Only Černák, Clarke and Nemec scored more than 10 points, i.e. all current NHL players.

He already has one record

Goljer also earned attention in the extra league at the turn of November and December, when he had a seven-game point streak before leaving for the Under-20 World Cup.

She started on November 23 against Košice, then she was able to score successively against Spišská Nová Ves, Nitra, Zvolen, Prešov, Slovan and again Nitra.

Among the teenagers, no one before him was able to do that, during the period when match statistics were available (2002/03), Brandt Clarke and Šimon Nemec pulled the longest point streak.

Both were able to score five matches in a row, while Šimon Nemec managed to do it during the playoffs in the 2021/22 season.

Filip Mešár, Adam Sýkora, Marián Studenič, Erik Černák and Tomáš Mikuš pulled the four-game point streaks.

In April, Slovakia will host the Under-18 World Cup, and Adam Goljer should be the main driver of the Slovak team.
