Last night, around 2.30 am, police officers stopped a car in via Cecilio, during an ordinary patrol service. Two young people were traveling on board the vehicle: a 21-year-old Italian resident in Calolziocorte, driving, and a twenty-year-old passenger, also resident in the province of Lecco and already known to the police.

From the first stages of the check, the driver showed an impatient attitude, a circumstance which led the operators to carry out further checks. During an initial visual check of the passenger compartment, the officers noticed the presence of a telescopic metal baton, approximately 60 centimeters long, partially visible from the glove compartment of the front door.

In light of what emerged, the patrol carried out a thorough search of the vehicle and its occupants. The inspection also made it possible to find a switchblade with a total length of approximately 16 centimeters and, in the trunk, a metal baseball bat, all objects detained without justified reason.

The two young people were accompanied to the police station for the ritual checks. At the end of the formalities, the 21-year-old was reported in a state of freedom for illegal possession of weapons and objects capable of offending, while all the material found was seized.

The State Police reiterated that the territorial control services will continue with perseverance and determination, especially at night, with the aim of preventing episodes of illegality and guaranteeing a high level of safety for citizens.
