The Algerian badminton selection was crowned 2026 Arab champion, dominating all the events of this edition played in Cairo and collecting a total of nine medals (3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze), announced the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA).
The three gold medals were the work of Tanina Maâmri and Sirine Ibrahim in women’s doubles, Koceila Maâmri and Youssef Sabri in men’s doubles, as well as the duo Koceila Maâmri – Tanina Maâmri in mixed doubles.
The silver medals went to Yasmine Chebbah and Linda Mezri (women’s doubles), Adel Hamak and Abdelrahmane Belarbi (men’s doubles), as well as Abdelrahmane Belarbi and Sirine Ibrahim (mixed doubles).
As for the three bronze medals, they were won by Adel Hamak and Abdelrahmane Belarbi in men’s singles, and by the pair Abdelaziz Ouchfoun – Hala Bouksani in mixed doubles.
Note that all the finals of the doubles events opposed Algerian pairs, illustrating the clear supremacy of the national selection during this edition of the Arab Championship.
Thanks to this harvest, Algeria finished well at the top of the general ranking and won the competition trophy, confirming the constant progress of national badminton on the Arab scene.
