JFV Lübeck U19 (football): The A-Juniors of the Lübeck Youth Support Association achieved something historic in November. The team secured the championship in the Regionalliga Nord and celebrated promotion to the DFB youth league (formerly the Junior Bundesliga) for the first time. From 13 league games, the JFV achieved strong eleven wins and one draw. Only the game on the last day of the match was lost. The Bundesliga adventure starts for the Lübeck youth team on the first weekend in February. Then opponents such as Hansa Rostock, Arminia Bielefeld and Hertha BSC await. The Lübeck team are also in the semi-finals of the state cup.

VfL Lübeck-Schwartau (handball): Last season in the 2nd Handball Bundesliga ended with an emotional heart-stopping finale for VfL Lübeck-Schwartau. On the last match day, the Lübeck team overran HSC Coburg 30:21 in front of more than 2,000 fans in the “Hansehölle” and thus secured relegation and the 18th second division season in a row. Even in the current season, after initial difficulties at the start, things are now going really well. VfL recently thrilled its audience with attractive offensive handball, remaining unbeaten in eight games in a row and collecting strong 15:1 points since the end of October. The Lübeck team finished the first half of the season in a respectable seventh place in the table.

CE Timmendorf (Eishockey): At the beginning of the year, the “Beach Devils” narrowly missed out on making it to the playoff semi-finals. In the decisive third quarter-final game of the regional league, CE Timmendorf lost 3-4 to the Hamburg Crocodiles in Eisland Farmsen. After a 3-0 opening win and a 1-3 defeat, the playoff brought bitter certainty. But the Timmendorfers are back on track for the playoffs in the current season. Six of the previous eight home games have been won, the “Beach Devils” are currently in fourth place in the table – and would therefore have a home game at the start of the playoffs for the first time. Spectator interest is also developing positively: an average of 821 fans flocked to the home games, around 100 more than last year. CE Timmendorf is well on its way to re-establishing itself as a fixture in northern German ice hockey.

SV Todesfelde (women’s handball): For the handball players of SV Todesfelde, the year feels like a sporting endurance run on cloud nine. After just a year’s break, the blue-yellow team made an impressive return to the 3rd league with a confident march including a championship title in the Regionalliga Nord. There, the Segebergers continued their successful streak seamlessly: from the first eleven games of the season, the promoted team took eleven wins and a flawless 22-0 points. Plus, they’re a force in front of their home crowd. The blue-yellow team remained without a single home defeat throughout the year. The last defeat was on March 16, 2024. The reward is the lead in the table and the autumn championship. . Nobody believed that before the season: promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga is now on the agenda at SVT. The club must submit the license application by the end of February.

TSV Trittau (badminton): The sporting year of the TSV Trittau badminton players was characterized by light and shadow. In the spring, the Stormarn team returned to the Bundesliga after three years in the second division. Promotion was sealed with a 5-2 win at SC Union Lüdinghausen, and the championship was perfect on the last matchday. In the top division, however, TSV first had to pay the lessons. The previous seven games of the season have been lost, only one point has been recorded so far – currently that means last place in the table. There is still planning security: at the end of this season there will be no relegation from the Badminton Bundesliga.
