The Sports Directorate of the Municipality of Chacabuco released its 2025 annual report, which details a year marked by the strengthening of sports policies aimed at health, social inclusion and the improvement of municipal infrastructure.
In coordination with the General Secretariat, the area in charge of Professor Jorge Giménez worked throughout the year with clear objectives: promoting physical activity as a pillar of well-being, guaranteeing equitable access to sport and optimizing sports spaces to provide greater safety and quality to residents.
Municipal Sports Schools: free training for all ages.
One of the central axes of the management was the development of the Municipal Sports Schools, which in 2025 offered free training in a wide variety of disciplines for children, young people, adults and seniors.
Among the consolidated proposals are basketball, volleyball, handball, swimming, Paralympic school, rugby, judo, hockey and cycling, to which new disciplines such as wabol, newcom and tennis were added, thus expanding the offer and reaching more sectors of the community.
July: consolidation of programs and growth in participation
During the month of July, the closing of the local stage of the Buenos Aires Games stood out, with a 20 percent increase in athletes classified for the regional stage.
The “Sergio Dopazo” Futsal Tournament was also held, with the participation of 53 teams and 530 players of different categories, consolidating itself as one of the most popular sporting events of the year.
On a recreational level, the program “Rainbow Colony” It was a success, with more than 500 children participating in different groups and activities.
Infrastructure and services: renovated spaces for sports
The report highlights important advances in sports infrastructure, including:
Comprehensive renovation of the central court of the Municipal Sports Center, with new LED lighting and playing surface.
Painting work in the Recreational Park and the Municipal Sports Center, both outside and inside.
Improvements to the municipal pool.
Change of lighting on the municipal cycling track.
Delivery of sports equipment to Municipal Schools.
Training and training: a key axis.
Training was another of the pillars of the year. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) courses were given for trainers and gym staff, with 190 certified people. In addition, the Health Book was implemented, a tool that allows athletes to keep a medical and sports record, and neighborhood teachers were trained in accident prevention.
August: Sports Month in Chacabuco.
August consolidated itself as an emblematic month with the holding of multiple large-scale events:
Chacabuco Marathon, with more than 350 participants in the 4K and 8K categories.
International Tennis Tournament, with the participation of 72 tennis players from different countries, held at the Los Marinos Center.
Finals of the Futsal Tournament, with presentation of medals and trophies.
Children’s Cycling-Pedro Prieto Grand Prix, with 350 cyclists.
Chacabuco Women’s Children’s Volleyball Cup, played at the Municipal Sports Center.
Provincial Duathlon, corresponding to the fourth date of the championship, with 200 athletes in individual and team modes.
Buenos Aires Games 2025.
The local stage of the Buenos Aires Games culminated with an outstanding performance by the Chacabuquen athletes, who won gold, silver and bronze medals, reflecting their effort, perseverance and commitment to sport.
Positive impact on the community.
The annual balance reflects a high participation in massive events, such as marathons, cycling, tennis, duathlon, volleyball, hiking, Buenos Aires Games and Municipal Schools.
Likewise, the number of trained teachers and the delivery of health notebooks to athletes in the city were highlighted.
Chacabuco, a city in motion.
The Sports Directorate highlighted that during 2025 it was possible to expand proposals, consolidate participation spaces and improve the quality of activities, thanks to coordinated work with institutions and sustained planning.
Looking to the future, the Municipality reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting sport as a tool for inclusion, training and well-being, with the aim of continuing to build an active and healthy community.
