Zinho Vanheusden: Retirement to New Beginnings – Family News

Zinho Vanheusden and his partner Lauren Vromans posted a video on Instagram in which they make it clear that they are having a second child. Their son is one year and a few months old.

“And suddenly there you were… Another light in our lives, another heart that we will love forever,” writes Lauren, whose due date is March 2026.

Vanheusden said goodbye to football three weeks ago at the age of just 26, after long injuries, multiple operations and a third cruciate ligament injury. He then indicated that fatherhood was a motivation to make that difficult decision.

“In my heart I would always want to remain a footballer, but my body has been saying for a while that enough is enough. And that is why – out of respect for myself, for my health and for my responsibility as a father – I am making this decision. No matter how unreal it feels when I write this. But I still want to be able to walk in my life without pain, play with my son and enjoy life with my family.”
