Željko & Jazz: A Musical Remembrance

After several years of silence, they played again in his memory yesterday. In the veteran competition of the 21st mini-football tournament in Našice, Stril’s Dzezeri, a team that was formed with love, passion and vision by the late Željko Strilić, returned to the floor.

Although incomplete, without training and without big announcements, the Jazz entered the match as Željko would have liked, with heart, pride and without fear. In a real little blitz-krieg, they defeated the Spaneri Sport Caffe team with a score of 1:0, but that goal was worth much more than the victory itself.

This was no ordinary match.
This was the message.
This was a hug to remember.

The arrival of Danijelo Pranjić, who came from Rijeka exclusively for this match, because of friendship, respect and a man who left an indelible mark in the hearts of many, added special weight to the evening.

The result was recorded, but the victory was emotional.
The jazzers returned, for a short time, but strong enough to show that Željko was not forgotten. As long as there is someone who will put on that jersey, run onto the field and look up at the sky before the first ball, he lives on through them.

For Željko. Forever Jazzers.
