Soner AYDIN / MERSİN, – A fight broke out between the players after the match played between Seçil Kauçuk Mersin Basketball and Bodrum Basketball in Mersin in the 15th week of the Türkiye Women’s Basketball 1st League.
In the 15th week of the Turkish Women’s Basketball 1st League, Seçil Kauçuk faced Mersin Basketball at Bodrum Basketball Edip Buran Sports Hall. The match ended with the guest Bodrum Basketball winning 73-72. After the match, a fight broke out between Seçil Kauçuk Mersin Basketball and the opposing team players. Security forces and technical delegations of both teams intervened in the fight and calmed the players. Bodrum Basketball player Eydina Topçu, whose eyebrow was opened during the fight, was taken to the hospital after her first intervention on the field.

Seçil Kauçuk Mersin Basketball General Manager Tolga Güleç expressed their regret in his statement about the incident and said, “We intervened and ended the incident. There is no problem now. We also met with the president of the opposing team. We are trying to determine how this incident took place by watching the match footage. We are trying to end the incident beautifully because the opposing team is our friendly club and people know each other. We apologize to our entire country and sports community, especially the basketball fans of Mersin, for the incident that occurred at the end of the match. “I wish this incident had not happened,” he said.
