Wilfried Nancy: Celtic Start & Cryptic Response

Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy appears to have responded to criticism in a cryptic fashion. The Frenchman took charge at Celtic Park on 4th December and has overseen an abysmal start to his time at the club, losing three games in a row including the Premier Sports Cup Final to St Mirren.

There have been calls by some to part ways with Nancy, despite the limited time in which he’s had to put his stamp on the team. However, it appears that the manager is aware of the speculation and the real unhappiness of the support at the way the club is being run from a footballing point of view.

In a surprise move, Nancy appears to have updated his Twitter profile picture to include a graphic suggesting what people should focus on.

Nancy’s team selections and tactics have drawn criticism from supporters and pundits alike, who question his decision to continue with these in spite of poor displays and awful results. Supporters will, obviously, want Nancy to succeed but the early signs are not good and hopefully things will turn around given the hectic weeks of football ahead. Fans would prefer that the manager keeps his own counsel rather than posting cryptic messages.

The reality is no one will care about this if he beats Dundee United tomorrow but he should’ve known what he was walking into, especially given the gravity of the games he started with. If he didn’t know Scottish football was mad, he does now.
