Ventspils Latvian Cup Quarterfinals – 2024 Update

On Monday, “Ventspils” basketball club secured a place for “Užava” in the quarterfinals of the Latvian Basketball Cup, where they will compete with “Ogres” basketball players. In the round of 16, Ventspils defeated the “Sigulda” https://www.ventasbalss.lv/”Mapri Būve” team with 106:73 (32:12, 36:18, 28:23, 10:20).

Among the winners, Artūrs Ausējs stood out with 22 points, Bryant Thomas and Nikolay Atanasov scored 15 and 14 points, respectively, and Cameron Shelton finished the match with 12 points, 11 rebounds and ten assists.

In Sigulda’s team, Matīss Indriksons scored the most with 16 points, while Kristaps Stupelis collected another 14 points and seven rebounds.

“Ventspils” will compete with “Ogri” in the quarter-finals, which beat the “Jēkabpils BA” team 100:92 in the first match of the round of 16.

Another round of 16 has already been overcome by “University of Latvia”, which won 101:99 in overtime against “Gulbenes Buki”/BJSS unit.

The final will be held on February 21.
