In recent years, two of the fastest Polish rally drivers of the moment have celebrated victories in this race – Miko Marczyk (three times) and Kajetan Kajetanović (eight times).
We already reported that brothers Ivars and Andris Velmes (Audi Quattro Sport E2) will also compete in the show or Legends class. A total of 12 crews will start in this class, among which will be the 2nd place winner of the 2014 Monte Carlo WRC Rally (behind only Sébastien Ogier) Brian Bouffier (Toyota GR Yaris), who is a frequent guest in Polish rallies.
It should be noted that there will be no time recording in the show or Legends test class. The winner will be determined based on fan ratings, which will be submitted in the mobile app, as well as the ratings of a specially selected jury in each stage. The jury’s vote will make up 30% of the total result, while the fans’ vote will make up the remaining 70%.
Our crew has already familiarized themselves with the track and is ready to start.
“We have successfully arrived in Poland, where we will start already this weekend Barbórka Legends Rally in the rally,” Go4speed tells the portal Ivars Velme. “The last days in the garage were quite productive, because there was still a lot to do, but now everything is done and we can concentrate and wait for the start of the competition. We arrived well, without any incidents, not like what happened to you on the way to the Rally of Legends (laughs). I would like to say a big Thank you to the Polish athlete Pawel Poletilo.”
“He contacted me on Facebook and offered to leave the car with him overnight. He both washed the car and arranged that we can pass the technical commission there on the spot. He himself drives a BMW in the Lithuanian Rally Championship, but for this race he gave his BMW M3 to his 70-year-old father.”
“We have recorded the track. The first stage is like about two stages of our 333 track put together. The second and third stages will take place in a sort of military and industrial area, and another stage will take place in an airfield-like area, which will also have a small gravel section. It will be interesting. I think the audience will like it.”
