Trelleborgs FF continues to build a squad for the 2026 season.
Now it is clear that they have signed Oskar Sverrisson from AFC Malmö.
– I hope to contribute through hard work every day, regardless of whether it is training or a match, he says in a statement.
After Örebro SK’s late equalizing goal against Trelleborgs FF in the last round, it was clear that they were later relegated from the super league.
Before the restart in Etta, a lot has happened at TFF, when, among other things, they finished with a new head coach and were thanked by both the sports director and club director.
On Wednesday, it became clear that they are signing the experienced full-back Oskar Sverrisson, 33, from AFC Malmö – on a contract that extends over two years.
– It feels very nice to be able to represent Trelleborgs FF. I have been close to a transfer to TFF several times, actually ever since I was 14 years old, so it feels extra fun that it finally happened. At the same time, 2026 means a restart in the First Division for the association, with major changes in both the organization and the team, where many new players and coaches will have to put together a functioning business in a short time. There, I hope to contribute through hard work every day, regardless of whether it’s training or a match, says Sverrisson in a statement and continues:
“I have been in the top fight in the series several times”
– I expect to be one of the older players in the squad, and with that comes a responsibility to make demands and help show the way. I also know Etta very well and have been in the top fight in the series several times throughout my career.
Andreas Granqvist, head coach of Trelleborgs FF:
– With his experience, Oskar will be a very important part of our team and for our younger players. With the leadership he offers, I expect him to contribute both on and off the field. He is a full back who comes from a good season in the First Division and offers us both a solid defensive and a skilled offensive.
Oskar Sverrisson has previously played Allsvenskan football for clubs such as BK Häcken and Varbergs Bois.
