TJ Watt will undergo a pulmonary physical at a local hospital on Thursday after experiencing discomfort, reports Burt Lauten of the Steelers’ official website.
Watt will not practice Thursday and, according to Pittsburgh. His participation in Monday night’s game against Miami is uncertain.
The team’s statement said head coach Mike Tomlin “will provide more information in due course.” Nick Herbig and Jack Sawyer will be candidates to take on larger roles on defense in Week 15 if Watt is unavailable.
Watt led the NFL in sacks three times during his nine seasons in the league, all with the Steelers. He tied a league record in 2021 by finishing the year with 22.5 sacks.
Watt has seven sacks in 2025 and recently passed his older brother, three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt, in career sacks in the league by recording his 115th last month.
