European hero role for Youri Tielemans. The Red Devil was allowed to come on at halftime against Basel and Aston Villa took the lead a few minutes later. The visitors held on to the 1-2 and thus take the lead in the Europa League.
Aston Villa quickly took the lead on a visit to Basel after a goal from Guessand. However, around the half-hour mark, Daniliuc erased that goal after an assist from ‘good old’ Shaqiri.
Tielemans – unlike Onana, did not start the match – was allowed to come on at half-time. And had a major impact almost immediately.
The Red Devil beat Aston Villa to 1-2.
A bonus that the visitors no longer gave away. Tielemans and co therefore remain in the lead in the Europa League, together with Lyon and Genk killer Midtjylland.
